After spending my 20's chasing every opportunity I could, failing a few times, refinding myself after, and moving nearly every year of the decade - I have ended up back home in East Kentucky, by choice.

I found my way home and I'm incredibly happy that I did.  There's so much life and love here that I'm not sorry at all for my choice to return.  It has lead me to one of my proudest moments working with a group of teenagers at the Appalachian Media Institute, which lead me to the biggest opportunity of my career - working as the Community Engagement Coordinator at the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative.

Finding my way home, reconnecting with old friends while building new relationships, and facing a new career that is challenging me in all of the best ways has lead me to make the biggest decision of all, I am becoming a single foster parent.  I'm in the final stages of getting certified now and have so many thoughts, fears, and even more excitement.

While there are many single foster parents out there, this process has taught me there are very few resources for us specifically.  My hope is that this blog will help someone who decides to foster.

Please feel free to reach out to me!
